If not, Canadian dollars are useless here and regular banks will probably not accept them in exchange for pesos. Most banks will accept US dollars for pesos at the expense that you will be losing some money given the exchange rate. Some businesses like McDonalds actually accept US dollars. Major credit cards will work here, but there isn't a lot of businesses that will accept them (mainly department stores or big chain restaurants).
