It is the Rio Grande that is the boundary between the two nations of Mexico and Texas(U.S.) - good luck!

Answer: the Nueces River.
For many years Mexico claimed the Nueces River as the boundary between Mexico and Texas.

Mexico claimed the Nueces River — about 150 miles north of the Rio Grande — as its border with Texas. See the Wikipedia article on the Mexican American War
