My cat is Mexican:) I got her from a friend and brought her here to Florida, and then I took her back when I went back (and now we're back in the USA again).

Taking a cat to Mexico is quite easy, or at least it was for me.
I had all the required documents, but not a soul asked me for them!

When I went (2003), the Mexican consulate in Miami said we needed to have a U.S. Interstate and International Certificate of Health granted within the past 72 hours and then we also needed a document from the vet saying that all vaccines were up-to-date.

I do think, though, that there is a 2-pet limit as far as "large" (anything as big as a cat) pets go. You'll have to get permission from the consulate for that third cat!

A pet fish, eh? Wow! I'm not sure--considering that you can have only so many ounces of liquid, I suppose you'd have to stow him away as well... I am sorry I can't help you there!

Be sure to find a good vet once you get there--you'll need evidence of good health and vaccinations from a Mexican vet upon re-entering the US (if you plan to return).

About the fees--I think I remember paying a "permit fee" upon entering the country... I don't remember how much it cost, but I am pretty sure it was around $50... Again, call the consulate to make sure...

Have fun in Mexico!! I miss it!

You don't need much.
You'll need...
1. a health certificate (issued by your vet) - should probably use an international health certificate (your vet will supply) as there is various necessary information on it.
2. rabies & distemper vaccines less than 1 yr old.

You can check out all the rules & regs at...

Don't forget, if you're flying, the airline may require a health certificate issued within a certain # of days (usually 14) - a good thing to check.

I can't find any information on fish, but you can check out the main Aphis:Mexico page:

Worse comes to worse, call the embassy.

Not sure if its the same in the US but in the UK cats need to be kept in a quarrantine for 6 months to be sure not to spread potential rabies. Dont know about fish though.
