YOMG; asked:

I need to know some traditonal dances that originate in Mexico. They can be modern dances as well. Thank you :) And also some song writers and types of music from back in the day perhaps?

  1. Sorry mate no real help here but some of their oldest and most known for being Mexican are the Mariachi dances done to the music of Mariachi bands. Living most of my life in Arizona I know that little but never learned of the different names or reasons for each kind of cultural dance. It is something like any and all true and old cultural things of any ethnic background that is disappearing. Hope that help..a little maybe. Aloha!

  2. Sorry, the only one I can come up with that is a traditional Mexican Folk dance is Jarabe Tapatío.

There are lots of latin dance styles, but they did not originate specifically in Mexico that I’m aware of.
    Dominican Republic - Bachata
    Columbia - Cumbia, Mapale
    Peru - Marinera, Huayno
