They could check your baggage for new items purchased in the US that you could pottentially try to sell in Mexico,like electronics that are not presumably for your personal use, or clothes with paper tags(You are allowed to bring a laptop, cell phone , camera, video camera though), but if you just come for vacations and all you have in your bags is your stuff, there shouldn't be a problem. Anyway if you depart form LA, your bags will be checked for this items at your final destination in Mexico. On a diferent topic, the flight could be cheaper from TJ. Have some really nice vacations over here!!!.
